702 Fest #4: Benefit Gig For The Storehouse, Southend!

Our friends at Southend Action are part of the team organising this benefit to support a grassroots charity helping vulnerable people in Southend. We’ll be having an information stall at this event.

Over 3,000 people are registered at the foodbank at the Storehouse in Southend.

When they started in 2009 there were 250 people registered! Nowadays they give out up to 500 food parcels per week for our community. Food poverty in Southend is increasing.

They are seeking donations to help as they are having to move locations due to the Better Queensway Project which will be starting in the next couple of years.

Southend’s music community is going to come together with The Railway Hotel, Southend Action and Rise Up Events to host a music event to help with some of those much needed funds!

We have arranged for representatives from the Storehouse to attend and they will be giving a talk so they can explain what they do, and why they do it!
